They will work across multiple projects, analyzing scripts, VFX breakdowns, and other materials to provide competitive packages to our clients.  This position actively works with internal production teams to not only establish the methodologies that will be used on a project, but also understands how each project will affect the company at large both financially and institutionally.     You Can

  • Be responsible for producing bidding packages to the Luma clients. Using client provided reference materials (meetings, scripts, breakdowns, storyboards, reference and previz), analyze and identify the required scope of work for a project.
  • Liaise with VFX supervisors and heads of departments to quantify best methodologies and approach for each project.
  • Act as one of the initial and/or primary bidding contacts throughout projects for client liaison.
  • Prepare bids for new visual effects projects and reconcile finances of active productions (adds / omits / adjustments) for approval by Bidding Producer and/or Executive Producer.
  • Monitor and communicate any potential new work and changes in scope of work to and from production and clients
  • Stay current of studio capacity and capabilities and be able to assess whether a project or type of work would be appropriate for Luma to prioritize, then discuss and strategize with the Bidding Producer and the Executive Producer.
  • Consistently maintain a comprehensive set of notes relating to each project according to the system Bidding Producer sets up, tracking and updating bid activity and reporting to the Bidding Producer and Executive Producer.
  • Create rebate documents & Financial reports Finance Lead's and our clients to review at the conclusion of each show's production cycle. Ensure there are split checks completed throughout the project.
  • Manage the importation of historical and current bids into Luma in-house bidding database and server.
  • Handle any internal or client required financial reports. Tracking payment schedule updates and communication billing needs to the Luma financial department.
  • You Have

  • Combined experience in Visual Effects Production with an exposure to Bidding across multiple productions with varying complexities.
  • Pro-active, detail oriented, self-starter.
  • Excellent communication skills. Work with Bidding Producer and Executive Producer to develop strategy for award for each project.
  • Deeply understand the industry market cost structures and how this relates to the selection of proper methodology. 
  • Highly motivated working within a fast-paced environment. 
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office, particularly in Excel. 
  • Working knowledge of FTrack or Shotgun.
  • Ability and experience to build effective working relationships with clients and colleagues.
  • Analytical, logical and methodical in approach.
  • Ability to work with a small team towards a common goal.
  • Up-to-do date knowledge of the VFX workflow and how it relates to bidding, according to current technical and creative VFX methodologies.

    You can:

  • Coordinate production of compelling and interactive visual content to share across digital platforms and support press and recruiting opportunities, including, but not limited to, VFX imagery, showreels and in progression content
  • Develop project briefs for development of marketing assets
  • Coordinate all aspects of awards submissions, from working with editorial to create awards reels, to confirming facility nominees and recording voice overs
  • Maintain marketing team awareness and understanding of ongoing VFX projects via regular meetings with internal production teams and management of key tools such as trackers, calendars, etc.
  • Coordinate with external PR team to set meetings, deliver assets, and secure appropriate print and digital press opportunities with trade and mainstream industry publications alike to promote our VFX work, talent and technology
  • Build and maintain excellent relationships with key external parties such as journalists, media outlets, studios, conference organizers, and software vendors
  • Liaise with clients on securing content approvals and aligning with the studio's overall marketing strategy for the project
  • Research public speaking opportunities for our key spokespeople and works alongside them to put together presentations, ensures the messaging is in keeping with the company's overall strategy
  • Contribute to development of marketing strategy, including analysis of competitive landscape and industry trends
  • You have:

    VFX Producer

    Melbourne
    The VFX Producer works closely with the VFX Supervisors and production teams in managing all aspects of a project. This involves planning and scheduling of facility resources, managing the visual effects team, liaising with the client, and maintaining strong relationships with the client and crew. Reporting to the Senior VFX Producer in Melbourne, Luma is looking to hire an energetic, organised and experienced Producer to join our growing team for a number of exciting projects which span into 2023! Please note that this position will need to be held during Melbourne's studio hours of Monday to Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm AEST. If you reside interstate or overseas, the team requires you to offset your hours to match the studio.  

    You Can

  • Plan and schedule facility resources with the VFX Supervisor and Digital Production Manager
  • Ensure the progression of work is to the client's satisfaction
  • Communicate with clients, editorial, artists and in-house management
  • Create scheduling targets and supervise the daily assignment to individual artists
